Colorful Smoke Bomb Wedding Ideas
We’re always up for trying new, fun ideas when it comes to making photos, and while smoke bombs have been around for ages, we love the idea of incorporating them into more than just your fourth of july plans. We’re beyond excited to share a recent styled shoot we dreamed up with Florist/Stylist, Laura McCarty of Marked and Augusta Cole of Artistry by Augusta. We were originally inspired by clouds and their ethereal characteristics, but a few lunch meetings later and our ideas took an edgy turn when we decided to incorporate a load of bold color. We hope this shoot can be an inspiration for brides & couples to incorporate time for creative portraiture into their wedding day or pre/post-wedding session. Smoke bombs bring such a fun element into photographs and could go the dreamy, graceful route with a neutral color palate or add in punches of color for a more artistic vibe. Since we all work pretty closely in and around the wedding industry, we envisioned the gals as a bride & bridesmaid, but this could just as easily become a fun addition to a party or engagement session. personally, we want to incorporate smoke bombs into a part of our daily lives.
Aside from the smoke bombs, we love so many other things about this shoot. Our ladies dresses came from Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters – two amazing resources for “wedding” dresses at a fraction of the cost. The white dress would work perfectly for a minimalist bride. Of course, we love BHLDN for all things wedding too, but this time Anthro pulled out a winner and all of our amazing jewels came from At Home in Homewood, AL.
And those amazing hairstyles… we can’t say enough about the absurd talent that is Lynze Prater and she lives right here in Birmingham, AL folks! We are obsessed with the wild and undone, yet coiffed looks she created for both of our ladies. I mean… that braid! we have no words.
