Folky Swann Lake Stables Wedding | Birmingham, AL
When Lauren & Trevor booked us for their wedding, we felt like we’d hit the jackpot. Not only are they friends of ours, but stylistically their wedding was our dream. We have two words for their wedding day: effortlessly cool. From day one, we’d been encouraged by their adventurous spirit and up for anything attitude. Prime example: that time they flew out to Colorado for a destination engagement session with us. Lauren & Trevor exchanged vows on a stone patio at the waters edge.
They had so many fun and stylish ideas incorporated into their day. Lauren and her gals hand-made the amazing macrame hanging piece behind the head table, while her brother created the structure it would hang from and rigged the edison bulb lights. Their reception was also spotted with a couple of campfires and a ton of falsa blankets. It was so cozy! We also loved the fact that guests held bulb lights above them as they made their getaway. Other notable moments were singing a hymn with their guests before dinner was served and taking time out for a few epic smoke bomb photos which you don’t want to miss!
And let’s not forget to chat about their fashion choices! The guys wore, local alabama designer, Billy Reid jackets with jeans. We loved that laid back, yet stylish look. The gals wore olive green shift dresses from Zara and mix-matched ankle booties. And Lauren’s dress… or shall I say skirt and top; the thing I loved most about it was that it was completely custom to her. And, of course, she rocked the Nisolo boots because she’s one of the coolest brides ever.
Lauren also had the genius idea of renting a lovely home for the girls to get ready in that morning. It was complete with modern decor and bright white walls (making this photographer VERY happy!). It was so much better than a dark hotel room with no character. high five, Lauren!
Finally, we’d like to give a shout out to the gents at Back Down South Films and Marked for being awesome to work with!
